I wanna get a can for my SIG mosquito. Can someone point me in the direction to get started with the right forms?? What is the cost??? How long does it take? Thanks. |
I see the 40page tacked thread about that but......... i ain't got the time to read that crap..... cliff notes??? |

The easiest way is just to go talk to a Class 3 dealer. Often they either can point you in the direction of how to form a trust, or some will even do it for you. You then pay for your can, wait for it to come in, and most dealers will fill out the form for you, all you have to do verify that the information is correct, sign it, and give them a $200 check for the Department of the Justice. Wait about 5 weeks, the approved form will come back, you then fill out a 4473, and do a NICS check and take you can home. |

Go buy you a copy of Quicken Willmaker. Print yourself out a trust, get it notarized and witnessed. Takes very little time. Then go to the Class 3 dealer and buy what you want. The first time you do it, you will sweat and sweat and sweat until the form comes back approved. Then you will go through the denial phase, where you can't believe it could possibly have been that easy. Then comes acceptance, where you suddenly discover there are so many NFA possibilities within your reach. Once you have the Trust, the process is so much easier and faster then the Individual route. No more wasting time trying to get signatures and whatnot. Chuck (CS223) and Burney have been in the game a long time, and are the best people to talk to in North Florida. If you are looking for a store-front and a lot of Class 3 enthusiast employees, Gun Gallery is a good place to go to as well. |
Chuck and I are IMing now. He's a wealth of info. His shop is a two hour or so drive for me......but I'll make the drive. He's very helpful. |

Got your trust done yet? Its worth the drive to deal with Chuck. You guys can probably work out most of the paperwork through the mail too, so that you might only have to make one trip. I was in his shop the other day and got to play with the new Stratus from Tactical Innovations. You'll certainly want to consider this suppressor. Size, performance and price are right. And for those that care, you can take it apart to clean it. The end caps look really cool too. If you're ever near Lakeland I can demo several others for you as well - OutbackII, Warlock, TAC-65, Commanche, Pilot, etc. But you won't go wrong with that Stratus. |
I don't know how far south your talking about but you can check Our Anvil Arms Schedule Page for the guns shows we do, one may be close to you. Everything but the actual transfer of the item to you can be done through the mail though so you only have to drive once. We have a full trust kit that includes everything you need including the notary signatures for $45.00. We also stock Sig Mosquitoes, cans and adapters for them. (Along with a bunch of other class III stuff!) If your in the north part of the state Chuck is your man. If your in the middle or south part of the state we can handle any class III need you have.
