I have a question about a non resident Florida CCW. I have the application, and it makes mention of training documentation. Would four classes at Gunsite, two of them strictly handguns suffice? I have an Alaskan CCW, and had to take a firearms class for that, but have no idea where the documentation is, it was 15 years ago. I'd appreciate some info on this. Thanks |

Maybe I'm not understanding something here, but why bother... Florida recognizes Alaska's licenses. RECIPROCITY |

I know you said you have classes for Alaska but Firearm training classes wont be good enough, you have to have a valid Military ID, DD-214 or the CCW class you can take at gunshows etc. I want to say if you have the Alaska CCW class you should be good but dont quote me. EDIT: If you were able to get a CCW in Alaska that means you went through the proper training for the CCW, so i think it should work in FL too, im pretty sure they are the same classes. |

The key word in my statement was NON-RESIDENT permit. The OP is from Alaska. So he gets issued a non-resident permit. The few states i listed above will not honor permits from people who are not residents of our state. J |
Correct - WV grants reciprocity to the FL CWFL only for Florida residents:
