| I will be buying my first handgun in 2 weeks and would like to know how to get a ccw permit. I know I have to take a firearm safty class and submit fingerprints but were do I start. I also have not decided between a Springfield XD45 or a Springfield 1911 loaded. |
| The easiest way I have seen is at a gun show. They usualy have a class there. The last one here in Miami-dade was $75 and included photo and prints. All you had to do was send it off with $117 to the state and wait about 1-2 Months. If not, any gun shop/range can probably help you out. |

i strongly advise against the Gun show. It by far is one of the worst classes given. Call you local shops/ranges. If they do not teach on site they will be able to put you in touch with an instructor. Wait on the paper work until the class. They will go over everything with you ( or should ). Charlie does nost of the gun show classes. I love Charlie and his store is my number one place to buy guns but his classes are REAL short. If you would like any REAL training and some REAL range time with an instructor helping you I would not take his class. What Charlie and others do, ie: let you fire 1 blank or 1 calibri .22 load should not be allowed. Its a way to circumvent what the state had in mind when it asked for live fire training. |
