Well, I have finally done it; I have bought my first home; a nice and beautiful 3/2 in Leesburg; now comes the hard part... MOVING!!!

I have canceled my utilities, change my mail address at the post office, changed all my addresses on all my bills and already reserved the truck at U-Haul! I hope I can get this done as smoothly as possible; I already took a week off from work to get my things squared away and my apartment's living rtoom is a mess of boxes.

My plan of attack:

Load down my car with all the important stuff (i.e. clothings, guns, personal papers, electronics, etc...) and then laod down the U-Haul truck with the rest. Have my friend drive the truck while I drtive the car to my new place, drop the car in the garage and use the truck to move the crap out plus go pick up a new fridge (after I buy it); hopefully, I'll have the keys of my new place by mid next Wednesday and be moving into it right after it; I'll be loading up the truck on Tuesday, that way once I got the keys, I call my friend and have him have the truck mobile by the time I am out of the title company office.

Damn!~ First time homeowner and I have a massive case of butterflies in the stomach.

I can't wait.

ETA 7-16-07

I have loaded the U-Haul (@ss out of town) truck with everything I own, disconected utilities, phone service and DSL (service suspended 7-18-07) and disposed of all the junk in the fridge, all I have left is the bed and the computer, that's it!

Tommorrow I go to the title company to get the closing done and I once the keys are in my hand, I drive back to the house and with Carlos' (whitedragon_48) help, I will move out of Orlando and into my new home in Leesburg. No more apartment living for me... I am finally getting to live in a quiet neighborhood, far away from the Ghetto Rats in the Paramore District, no more long commutes to work and no more "gassing up 3 times a week to go to work".

Photos up once I find the camera (boxed up somewhere).

Don't come to the HTF sucking around for moving help.

Seriously, good luck with the move and congrats on purchasing your first house.

I am glad I sold my truck though.  I got asked to help people move all the time.

I know; oh, BTW: Black-Tiger is "El Tigre Negro" in Spanish; "El Grande Gato Negro" means "Big Black Cat".

"Class Dismissed".

Once you get settled in up in Leesburg send me an email. I have a couple good friends up there that do a lot of AR shooting, I'll get you an invite.

They are pretty good guys to know as well. They have been in the area a long time and have personal connections for most any kind of repair a homeowner is likely to need so you will be assured of good work and reasonable prices.

Did I mention they shoot AR's a lot?

Sorry, gonna have to sit this one out. Going to Tenoroc instead with a very close friend; last shooting we'll do together before he moves to Arizona to work with the BP.

Why didn't anyone tell me 'bout this before???

Take a guess...

Besides, my new house is only 15-20 mins from work and that saves me from having to deal with the 45 min commute I had to do to get to work (almost 100 miles round trip).

Okay, I am about three days closer to move to my new home and now, I have to pack everything I own.

Damn! Now I have to pack all this crap.

You would not believe the amount of junk I've collected over the 4 years I've lived in Orlando. My 1 bedroom apartment looks like someone set off a claymore mine inside it; is a mess of boxes, scale models, figurines, military gear, firearms (both real and airsoft), clothing, uniforms, and other crap that is getting packed, passed on or disposed of.

I had to go to the local Borders bookstore to get boxes (for free and since I've worked for Borders in the past, I know they have about 20 metric tons of folded up boxes that always end up being compacted), stopped at Super Tasrget for a mega roll of packing tape and commercial strenght trash bags for dumping all the crap that I don't want and some supermarket plastic bags to put clothes that I don't use anymore to donate them (my good deed of the day)

One of my best friends, Carlos is coming later today to help me out with the packing and sorting; he is also moving as well (to Tucson), so we will switch roles pretty soon and I will be getting some of his stuff as well, including some furniture and maybe his big screen TV (YESSSS!).

I will probably be out of the loop for a couple of days since Bell South (The New AT&T - blah, blah) doesn't have DSL service in my area, so I will be switching to Embarq for my local phone and DSL service, along with calling Direct TV to install TV service (I have had their decoder box packed in my apartment for 2 years, since I have no reception here).

I will post pics of my new house as soon as I can have the DSL up and going... Is my first home and I am psyched up and ready to move in.

LEESBURG, FL... READY OR NOT... HERE I COME!!!
