Does anybody know when Love bug season ends? I walked theu my yard in Pasco county today and got swarmed with them....that and my windshield is a mess.

If you are new to FL, you need to wash the splattered ones off the front of your car. They are acidic and ruin the paint.

They seem to like to hover over hot pavement and some years the front of your car will be covered with them.

Heh. We made a road trip up through the state once during the season, we ran out of washer fluid because of the mess on our windshield. Stopped at a gas station to buy more, and the front of the car looked like a Jackson Pollock canvas.

they are attracted to the color white

Ammonia mixed with water seems to remove them from the winshield quite easily, thats what's in the window washer buckets at the gas stations on the TPK reast area

First time I have seen them in Broward in years. West coast has em but I swear its been like 20 yrs since I have sen them in Broward.

down here in dade, at the deering estate theres a ton of them, but in genral there isn't much hovering about hte 'hoods

I've been in Florida for 10 years, So, I have seen a couple of lovebug seasons, just not like this one. I just moved from Citrus Park to Land O' Lakes. I was out in Lakeland yesterday and there were very few of them around.
