I plan on going and was curious to if they have metal detectors up there? Not necessarily curious because im carrying but because I dont feel like emptying all the crap I normally carry and taking off my Wilderness belt.

Don't know about the auto show, but I've been to the boat show a few times, and IIRC they don't scan you or search your bags.

usually those places don't check you. Don't worry about it....its mind over matter, if you don't mind...then it don't matter.

Not worried about it, just want to avoid the hassle of walking all the way back to the car to drop off anything I carry be it guns or a knife.
