The NRA doesnt put one out anymore, I guess due to McCain's disaster.

Does anyone have a voting guide for pro gun canadates in Central Florida that covers the offices and judges?

I don't have a guide, per se, but I have personal experience with seeking the help of Rep. David Mealor on a gun related issue, and found him to be very pro-gun and pro-CCW.

This was back then WFTV published the personal info of every permit holder in central Florida on their website.  I wrote Rep. Mealor, and he got right on it, forwarding my letter to Rep. Dennis Baxley and working with him to fix the problem.

A short while later, Florida's CCW info was exempted from public disclosure.

He's got my vote...

They publish a list of candidates with grades A+ through F on gun issues. I lent mine to a friend otherwise I'd scan and post it.

A NEW RATING GUIDE WILL BE SENT OUT TO USF MEMBERS

BEFORE THE NOVEMBER 7, 2006 GENERAL ELECTION

The following is the basic criteria used in rating candidates:

STRONG PRO GUN -- Solid voting record/strong position on gun

issues/active support on issues. A plus (+) added to STRONG PRO GUN is

awarded to those incumbent legislators who have given extra-ordinary

support to our issues.

PRO GUN -- Strong stated position on gun issues AND/OR has a good

voting record.

WEAK PRO GUN -- Good position on most gun issues but weak on one issue.

PROBABLY ANTI GUN -- Expresses probable support for too many

restrictive measures to be rated weak pro gun but not enough to be

labeled definitely anti gun at this time. OR incumbent who has failed to

respond to our questionnaire two consecutive elections and still has no

clear voting record on our issues.

ANTI GUN -- Votes anti gun and/or supports one or more anti gun issues.

STRONG ANTI GUN -- Consistently votes anti gun and/or has introduced or

co-sponsored anti gun bills OR questionnaire indicates strong anti gun

position.

Failed to Respond -- Failed to return questionnaire -- Insufficient

information available.

USE THIS RATING GUIDE FOR SEPTEMBER 5, 2006 PRIMARY. A NEW RATING GUIDE

WILL BE SENT TO MEMBERS FOR THE NOVEMBER 7, 2006 GENERAL ELECTION.

NOTE: Past experience has shown that the majority of candidates who

fail to return a completed NRA/USF questionnaire are bad on the gun

issue and prefer not to be rated rather than reveal their true position.

There are, of course, some cases where candidates or campaign workers

have simply misplaced the questionnaire or for some other legitimate

reason the questionnaire was not returned. If you wish further

information on candidates in your area who failed to respond, before

making your voting decisions, we suggest you call the candidate.

You can get the phone numbers of candidates by calling your local

telephone information and asking for their campaign office numbers --

If you are unsure of the district numbers in which you vote, call your
