I don't think a permit, ( I'm assuming you mean a license to carry a concealed weapon) will have any bearing on the time it takes the ATF to process your request.

As for the paperwork, do a search for the SBR FAQ , it has links to downlaodable forms and can answer any other questions you may have.

U need a sign off(Sheriff or Judge) in your county, or a LLC, or a Trust, then you need to fill the paper work out for what class of weapon like SBR will be a Form 1 , supressors and such will be a form 4. Send the right stuff in with your $200 check to the Gov and wait for about one month , longer for a sign off.

Thanks You !

Form 1 is what I need!

I will ask the local Sheriff.

Once I get the paper work and all  does it EXPIRE?

I still think a handgun permitt should cover SBR

U fill out a form for each NFA item U buy , you pay $200 each time for each item, it last as long as you own it. If the Sheriff does not do it then start a Trust, it is so easy a blind monkey can start one.

I doubt that it will help any. If something in the background checks etc turns out funky, you won't get it. Regardless of a carry permit.

Are you going to the shoot on the 2nd?

NO!  This is not the case.  Only one SBR upper per registered SBR Lower, as I understand it.
You really should read the SBR FAQ.

You can have as many uppers as you want. As long as they sit on the registered lower.
