Anyone else sick of the stupid 3 day waiting period on long arms enforced in Hillsborough and a few other counties? I bought a Bushy M4A3 today and won't be able to pick it up until TUESDAY.
(RANT OFF)

Maybe we should figure a way to have this law removed, any Ideas or will hell freeze over first

I think in West Palm Beach it's 5 days.

I don't like it.

It just goes to show you it pays to have a concealed Weapon Permit.

Yeah, the county can be more restrictive than the state, but not less. Then you get into trades for a gun.  If you trade a pistol for another pistol it varies by county if you have to wait or not.  The law gets a bit vague at times......  I don't know whay they can't at least standardize by state.

(2) LIMITED EXCEPTION; COUNTY WAITING-PERIOD ORDINANCES.--

(a) Any county may have the option to adopt a waiting-period ordinance requiring a waiting period of up to, but not to exceed, 3 working days between the purchase and delivery of a handgun. For purposes of this subsection, "purchase" means payment of deposit, payment in full, or notification of intent to purchase. Adoption of a waiting-period ordinance, by any county, shall require a majority vote of the county commission on votes on waiting-period ordinances. This exception is limited solely to individual counties and is limited to the provisions and restrictions contained in this subsection.

or notification of intent to purchase.

So the way I read it ,if you send me an E-mail with your name in it saying,

Hi Court , my name is Joe Blow and I plan to buy a receiver from you , when can I pick it up ?

This starts your waiting period.

Opinions ?

Signed 4473 is a good verifier of intent. Fill it out and sign it when you come in to look, put a deposit. When gun comes in, PU and go home.

Yes, that would be the best way.
But when you are in West Palm Beach and your buyer is in Naples it's a long ride just to fill out a 4473 and come back in 5 days.
