Just moved here from Austin, Texas....and need some assistance gaining my bearings. I'm living in the Waterford Lakes area, east of Orlando....as I have to commute out to KSC for work. I am looking for a couple of things, locally: 1) A good black rifle friendly range. No real long shooting, yet....only 100 yards required for me for now. 2) A good gun store....looking for a reputable shop, preferably with the AR15 team Seal of Approval. I enjoy doing business with those who appreciate their customers and are willing to take care of them...so if you have had good experiences in the area, please let me know and I'll try to help pass on the thanks. 3) IDPA matches. I don't currently compete....but would like to start sometime in the future. I am also looking for a place locally to go through the training required for a CWL, as well as any pistol training courses. Many Thanks, Max Green |

There are plenty of Orlando area ARFCOMers! You also might want to register at......................... floridashootersnetwork.com HS1 |

Ishikawa: For IDPA, the Central Florida Rifle and Pistol Club/Assoc. near the Orlando airport is open the public. Matches are the first Sunday of every month. Please bring pistol and holster, extra mag and holder, about 100 rounds, some form of cover (vest) and about $15.00. You will need a membership to shoot there on a regular basis, but the facility is nice. Here they are: www.cfrpc.com/ If you just want to shoot your rifle, there is a range in Holly Hill near Daytona that is open to the public for $3.00. It is called Strickland and is closed on Tuesdays and Sundays. IM me if you want directions. If you would like to join a local range that is nearby, Seminole County has a range on East 46 that is nice. Member signup is the first Sunday of the month. Their site is www.scgaa.org/ Hope this helps. -White Horse in Deltona |
| Im in the orlando area (actually Oviedo) which is about 5 min from Orlando. I go to pace outfitters in Altamonte Springs and they are a good bunch of people, ask for Chris and he will hook you up. Most of the shops around are overpriced so I would stick with Pace. I belong to www.scgaa.org and would highly recommend becoming a member , for $120 a year you can come to the range 7 days a week and sometimes your the only one there. |
We'll be neighbors in about a year, I'm having a house built in Oviedo |
really, where abouts?? IM me if you dont want it posted |

I live at Dean Rd. and Aloma Ave. in Oviedo. Hey, guys. hey For a broad selection of firearms at decent prices, I like to make a trip all the way over to Florida Gun Exchange on US1 on the south end of Port Orange just north of SR 5A (it's actually in Allandale). I was thinking about applying at SCGAA. Not sure if I want to buy a membership, though. I don't get that many chances to visit the range being a full-time college student and all. Too much homework. <<Edited for grammar...darn Vodka>> |
