I have a Remington 870 Home Defense shotgun with the 18" smooth bore barrel complete with heat shroud. I am also including an extra Hastings 24" ventilated ribbed barrel with 3 chokes.
I originally brought the gun for home defense 3 years ago. The gun with the 18" barrel has never been fired. I needed something for skeet about a year ago so I picked up a Hastings 24" vent ribbed 3 choke system barrel for it. The barrel was 145.00 It has 2 rounds of skeet shot through it. That's it. Never went back to that club and never shot skeet again.
The gun picked up a little rust on the barrel areas while in my safe. Not sure why but it did. The 18" barrel cleaned up easily, but has some very very slight surface pitting on one side of the barrel toward the top -about a 2 inch area. You really have to look to even notice it. A pic of it is below. I'm talking slight surface pitting, nothing serious. But I wanted to mention it. The 24" barrel has a bit of rust on it as well, mostly in between the vent ribs. I spent 5 minutes with a silicon cloth and it cleaned up pretty nice, if some time was spent on it, it would be good as new. I just want to be upfront about the rust. Otherwise this gun is like new. 300.00 or best offer -shipped.

Here is where the pitting is on the 18" barrel -just in front of the heat shield.
