This gun started life as a standard GI-type 1911 in .38 Super. The shiny finish is factory Rock Island and has held up very well to holster wear and range use.
The gun was rebuilt by Virgil Tripp last year and I've been using it for IDPA and USPSA Single Stack. But I'm thinking of selling it to pay for a .45 build.
Here's a breakdown:
Ed Brown 9mm extractor
Nowlin 9x19 barrel (also comes with the factory .38 Super barrel)
Old-type Wilson beavertail and hammer
Crisp 2.5# trigger
Beveled mag well
Two "Springfield" 9mm magazines
Two Mec-Gar .38 Super magazines
1,000 rounds of UMC 9mm ball ammo in a GI ammo can
The gun has had a total of about 7,500 rounds through it. 6,500 of that has been since Virgil reworked it. In that time, I have had one stovepipe.
I'd like to get $750 for all this. Or possibly trade for a 1911 in .45 that is legal in Single Stack.
