I believe many are pinning there hopes on that court ruling banning the AR by name, not the previous type. Thus buy one not listed by name. The other end of the game is as fast as there is a new (or old) name found by the Kali AG that it gets on the list then you have X number of days to register it.
There is though some confusion about this in that once it gets on the list and registered that you can then modify it to a true AR, because you see when you build on that receiver it can not have more than one feature by list, thus you must have a pinned mag, no pistol grip, no bayo, no flash, etc (though you can have one).
This has not all fallen into place yet so be careful. This could be expensive for the pioneer pathfinders on this.
Also keep in mind the law means nothing, its the LE officers belief of what the law is that can cause all kinds of grief. Though you maybe free of permanent incarceration after a jury trial you maybe subject to anything and everything up to that including temporary incarceration, bail, expensive lawyers, and loss of firearm as lawyer fees to free the firearm will typically exceed its value by usually 10X to 20X or more.
This is the best as I understand it. I could be wrong on details but the jist is there is now a loophole due to a court ruling that many believe is legit due to the Kali AG's reaction.
BEST OF LUCK!
