But unfortunatly I do not check the computer in the evenings and missed the dealine..I would hope this is added to the approiate thread.
The bottom line is it is a "he said, I said" deal..and as such there are 2 sides to the events..The whole deal took place over the phone and as such there aren't emails..I wish there were...
I know I mentioned to the buyer, that I was selling one rifle, and it was based on money in hand. Whether he didn't hear me, much like he did with the 3 day inspection period (pretty standard over the 'net) or not I'm not sure..Did I keep reiterating to him..probably not as thought he understood. Was I honest with him and told him I was listing them locally and not to send payment. and I'd call him on the wekend..."yes"..So why wouldn't I be telling the truth here and he just didn't remember??? We more or less verbally agreed on a deal pending no other cash in hand sales on Feb 4th around lunch..but he didn't send payment til Feb 9th???? I'm on the hook to do a deal no matter what was said..yet he takes his time sending me the money??? Should I have been able to cancel the deal because payment was not promptly sent??
He says I never called him and left messages..Well I can get my work records from Verizon and I'm sure they will show mulitple "804-320-XXXX" calls...just like my cell.
Will it change things..no..but that is the truth..I left the guy messages that weren't returned and he is acting like I blew him off..
As far as the check arriving overnight..."Yes" I gave it to my admin on Feb14th, but it didn't go out til Wed. Sorry..Valentines day..DHL not standing at our door arms open, etc.. When I found out I had her overnight it at cost to us...Did the buyer overnight me money??? NO..he lives in Brockton, a suburb of Boston, yet couldn't go to the bank and send out a check..No rural routes, no excuses..He called me on Feb 6tth (Monday) and staed he was sending out the check that day, yet procrastinated 3 days...Should I have told my buyer on the Garand on Sat Feb 11th that I couldn't sell him a rifle when he has cash in hand...just because some guy takes his sweet time and verbally agrees to sending payment but doesn't.. Did the check arrive unopened? "YES" liek I stated it would as to me the deal wasn't in place..
Look at it this way...go into a gunstore and tell the proprietor you want to verbally holds something that is desirable, with no money changing hands then, but you'll send payment in like someone stated..10-14 days???? How many guys would tell you to F off...How many dealers would tell you they might miss a sale and never hear from you again..CASH TALKS...I had someone want to overnight me money, which would have been in my hand a full 6 days before this buyers money arrived..Did I do it.."NO" I honored our deal thinking the money was sent on Feb 6th and would arrive by Feb 9th or 10th...Someone asked how the buyer was supposed to feel with 1k out there..Well how am I supposed to fell with nothing but the PROMISE of 1k..the buyer afterall knew I had a rifle and I had nothing.
If this guy was so interested in securing the rifle..why wait to send payment?? I am sorry he didn't remember me telling him about cash in hand, but even if he would have sent his payment when he said he did..The 6th..He would have had a rifle, as his payment would have in most likelyhood arrived before the 11th..He didn't and lost out..sorry..
Then instead of calling me more than twice and leaving me a message, he post with inneuendo and you guys jump on to it..Not to mention he forgets to tell everyone the dates involved implying that he didn't hold off sending payment...I'm not a victim and neither is he...Maybe you guys like someone saying they are buying something, then sending payment when they get around to it..I don't.. I conduct internet business like I do other business..If you want to buy something...send payment promptly....Not when you want to..
As far as I'm concerned the guy should have promptly sent payment and he would have had a rifle...I'm sorry he didn't hear me or maybe he thought it wasn't important..In the future with firearms , car deals overnight substantial depoits or wire money, I'll start to require signed contracts, overnight funds and overnight shipping...buyer pays everything...That way business most closely replicates a store..You can't go into a store and buy something and not pay for it and expect the deal to be in place regardless of what was said..and you shouldn't be able to here.
I have no interest in being a member here, nor doing business with you guys.Nor will I and will enforce my earlier statements about "AR15.com" I've had some idiot with a stormtrooper humping the air, make a threatening post, others follow suit and many slander me without knowing what was actually said on the phone between 2 parties..none of which included you. You have shown me by your post that you think I'm supposed to honor a deal, no matter what the original deal was, simply because some guy sent me a check....Sorry we can all agree to disagree
