How do you manage the MP5's/G3's in WA?

I thought it was a non-NFA state.

How much does one of those MP5's go for? Its got to be a lot.

What kind of a shroud do you have on that 94?

I've been looking for a good SD-look thing for a 94..

Oh, wow, that looks great.

If you don't mind me asking, do you/did you have some sort of procedure you followed to make it? i.e. attaching it, finishing it, etc?

I ordered one of the E&L MP5SD shrouds, but...the look on yours is that of a 3-prong-mounted supressor, which is awesome.

I'd love to make one of those for mine :)

Not to be a party pooper or anything, but I hope you have the SP-89 registered as a AOW.

I thought you only had to register it as an SBR if it was post-94?

Or did that not count on imports..?

These guns are all pre-89. The only thing that you need Is AOL stamp for the forward pistol grip on the sp89. Take the grip off and put the original sp89 forgip on and you need nothing. If you put A stock on the SP89 Then you need to register it as a SBR.

Ahh...I wasn't aware a forward pistol grip put it into AOW grounds; I thought it would be comparable to a forward handguard...

Well it's been A while since I made it but basicaly I bought the size tubing I wanted and took some 3/8" aluminum plate. Drilled with a hole saw, the size of the ID of the tubing, I think I had to turn it down to the correct size. Then I used set screws to afix it to the barrel. You can weld or use set screws to attact the two pieces together.

As far as paint I think I used Brownells baking laqer. I don't know if I explaned this so you can understand, but it might give you something to think about.

No, that's all, son.

Honestly, I didn't mean any offence by the comment, sorry if you took any.

But I've seen so many SP89s sold with the k-grip in the package that I'm sure there are many people out there that are unaware of the laws.  And since you referred to AOWs as an 'AOL' I just wanted to make you weren't one of those guys.

Again, sorry for butting in, but I'm just trying to be helpful...

No I understand, Dad. A little story about that gun. I first seen at A gun shop In the case with the forgip on it. This was not C3 dealer, nor was there any tax stamp. I talk to a dealer friend and he bought the gun, and I bought the gun from him, and got the paper work straighten out.

M1S90 Benelli? Either some body really screw up stamping it or you got the wrong picture posted. Looks like a MP5K to me.

I need to get the family together for a photo..probably this weekend sometime. Actually, I need to take pictures of them all, really (serial numbers, overall condition, etc...insurance purposes, you get the idea. all "just in case".)

Heh, that is an SP89/MP5K.  I meant that this pistol is my only true HK.  I don't consider the M1 an "HK" because it is really made by Benelli.

Certainly not my only, but by FAR my favorite:

Factory SR9T, upgraded to TC with a new PSG1 stock.  I love that rifle.
2/1/2003 1:56:47 PM EDT
[#31]
Ahh, here we go, pics of the family:

First, with the shroud on:

With the SD shroud off, and the as-factory shroud put back on:

I like the SD shroud and all (the grip feels much nicer with that, instead of the slim forearm thats on it), but at the cost of covering up the sling mount...I'll just wind up picking up a wide forearm for it probably, and leave it as it is. (Tho, it'll be nice to shoot it with the SD shroud at least once)

At the end of the muzzle of the 93 is a cap, that's all. Forgot to take it off for the photos

Yeah, I did that one day and then I took the damn disk to work and I can never remember to bring it home so I can post pics.  I just laid them on a white background and snapped away with the digital camera.

You can't post the pic in your message, you have to post a link to your pic that is held somewhere else on the web.  If you look in the General Discussion board, someone asks this question nearly every day and someone who actually knows how to do it explains how (I don't post pics 'cause its too much work)
