Attached File My Broad River adapter came yesterday, so I can finally throw everything back together for my full-on SD SBR conversion. Never in a million years did I think I'd have an SD clone like this. I had Ralph Jr do the barrel swap with an RCM SD barrel and SD locking piece. I changed the cocking tube support for an RCM SD one as well. The BRT fills that space in the cage and I don't think the OEM MP5-style support will clear it. I may get another Alpha-pattern suppressor to pair with the adapter until the B&T Print-X becomes more available, but my old Octane 45 will stand in for now. It looks correct enough with the length at least! |

AP5-SD with SD barrel conversion by GreaseGunner, Broad River Wolfman adapter with DA Wolfman. Fleming sear in SEF pack.. She’s running great after a couple mags. silly quiet |
| Anyone use loctite of something similar on the rear end cap of their Hitec SD suppressor? if so, can you let me know specific product? I am concerned that the cap will come off when I try and remove the suppressor from my MP5Sd conversion that should be arriving any day now. Thanks! |

I've got well over a 1000 rounds through my HiTech SD can. I don't have a drop of loctite on it, nor would I want to. Never had anything loosen up. I really need to disassemble and clean the whole thing... |

I have a HTA 12” and have close to 2,000 rounds through it. I have had the endcap screw off a couple of times so when I cleaned it at 500 rounds, I used blue loctite and haven’t had a problem through the next 1500 rounds. I did get it stuck once and had to use a strap wrench to get it off so now, every 100 rounds or so, I unscrew it to break the carbon and then screw it back on and keep shooting. I also run it with a SS and it will only run well with HOT rounds. I also have a BRT SD adapter that I use on a CAT MOB. The MOB is slightly quieter than the HTA but does not like weak ammo so I run the MOB on my BRT CAR15SD with Atrius Dev Selektor exclusively. |

I had this happen with an 9mm AR where the suppressor fit under the handguard. If you want to Loctite in advance, use the high temp blue Loctite (#246). It is what another suppressor manufacturer recommends for keeping their cans from loosening up. |

Atlantic is running a HOT sale on their AP5-SD pistols. $1330 for the braced version $1250 for the basic I have zero regrets getting in early but it’s absolutely insane to imagine with a barrel change/labor, you could have a mostly-correct SD for under $2k, probably closer to $1800. Even if you just keep it as-is and use a 3-lug can, it’s mind-blowing. I ALMOST want to get a second one.

I already got the second one, otherwise I would go for another. These are fantastic platforms, and even better with the barrel swap. |

@sparky923 Really hard to get a clean view of it but I tried. Angle from the top, bottom, left, right, front. There may be a very slight left-to-right off center but it's minuscule. Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File Attached File |

My B&T can is closer to the top than centered. I assume due to welding the cage. Still haven't had a chance to shoot it. |

Well Va's communist turn made me buy one of these. Didnt really want, have thr money, or need one but recently watched Navy Seals and season 4 of the unit and they used mp5 sds. Looks like maybe the wolfman would be a nice can to use on this to keep that similar look? |

I used Pirateship.com to print a UPS label for 2 day air, insured it at full value and then took it to the UPS store and scanned it in at their kiosk. Handed the package to the guy and that was it. You'll need an accurate scale. On an air package you'll save enough to buy one on Amazon. Then you have a scale for future shipping needs. |

Rear of the receiver is so far out of spec none of the German stocks nor the MKE A3 I ordered will attach or function. SBT folding brace will barely fit but both the brace and pin have to be pounded into place. The MKE A3 stock I also bought from you guys never had the pin hole bored in the final manufacturing process/step…so no pin will pass through it. Could I bore it myself and make it work…yes. But I won’t. Your customer service has tanked. I asked about sending this back for a replacement and was told the AP5SD is “out of stock” despite it showing as in stock on your website. Was told to work it out with MKE/century instead or take my money back. Great…but I already bought an SD can…guess that’ll have to go on an AR-SD build or something. Am I annoyed neither of the two MKE products that cost me a sum of about $2000 were functional?…yes. Am I significantly more annoyed at Atlantic’s disingenuous (ie…flat out lie) response at this point? Most definitely. Attached File But it’s not in stock… Attached File |

My MKE A3 retractable buttstock comes nowhere near fitting - I don't think I could even pound it on with a hammer (which I am not going to try). The trigger pull is atrocious, and the safety lever takes all my strength to move from SAFE to FIRE and back. I already reached out to your SALES email address as I noticed some damage to the handguard. I will follow-up about the poor (no) stock fit and trigger to arrange return of the gun. Did you receive a bad batch or something? What are the chances that a replacement will have the same issues? |

I bought one and picked it up at my local FFL on Saturday. I'm new to the platform. Mine has functioned 100% with seven different ammo makes. Two, 124gr (NATO Ball and Winchester Hollow Point and five different 147gr (Flat point and round nose). The 124g HP and all the 147gr are subsonic. I have around 450 rounds through it with around 350 of the suppressed with a YHM R9. The subsonic rounds are surprisingly quiet though the R9. I've only rung steel with it but accuracy seems great. The selector is a bit stiff but I can move it with either thumb. The trigger has a lot of travel (like rowing a boat) but I understand that's what they are. The rear diopter sight is a degree or two canted but the irons are adjustable and it hits where you aim. I'm very happy I bought this and have already filed a form 1 to SBR it. I can't wait. I'll be getting an AS Designs ARHK for it when I can. Attached File Attached File ETA: I've owned a lot of different firearms over the years and never wanted an MP5 platform until I fired one. Stupid fun, very controllable and I'm so glad I picked this up. If anyone is on the fence I'm telling you to go for it. |

I would have reached out to the rep that is responding in this thread via DM. But maybe that’s just me. Sorry you’re going through this, mine fucking rocks with the SS lower and a whole bunch of folks seem to really like the product. That reminds me, I need to do some laundry tomorrow. |

Sorry you’re going through this, mine fucking rocks with the SS lower and a whole bunch of folks seem to really like the product. That reminds me, I need to do some laundry tomorrow. I felt the info would be helpful for other owners who, if they had similar problem, would at least know they are not alone. Atlantic have been very responsive so far. They sent me a return label timely, the defective gun is already back with them, and they promised to check stock fit on the replacement before sending it to my FFL, so I expect it will take a few days. I will post an update when it arrives. |
|
UPDATE: To their credit, Atlantic were really responsive and sent me a replacement AP5-SD in a timely manner. The trigger and safety on the replacement are a little better, but still heavy. As I plan to replace them with an FRT, the crappy factory trigger group is going into my parts bin anyway. Unfortunately, the fit of a stock on the rear of the receiver remains very tight. The receiver is just too tall with the trigger housing in place. I guess that's how they are all coming in now so I will just have to make it work . I'm excited to get the Form 1 started and to order a suppressor.

Guys with the true sd conversion, any ammo concerns? My standard bulk ammo purchase is usually cci independence or blazer brass 115gr. Weighing what i want to do with mine... This thought came up as I troubleshoot an ejection issue with a frt in a full sized ap5. It highlighted a slow cycling issue i see with my binary lower. I can easily out run it. I'm thinking the stuff can't fully cycle with the added weight of the trip. I'll find out here shortly if I'm totally wrong with my thought process. I have the RCM 115 degree "SD" locking piece installed and some different ammo for its next attempt. It's probably something else like the MKE ejector that i had to hack up for the install, so who knows.
