Broad River Tactical makes an SD thread adapter to add an extended blast chamber onto a conventional can. Might be worth checking out to use a can you already own on an SD conversion. |

Mine is back from the smith (Bahnof Machine) and test fired it last night at the local indoor range. Very quiet with full-size and compact B&T cans compared to my unconverted AP5SD with an Omega 9K. I plan to try it at my property in WV this weekend to get feel for suppression without ear pro. Attached File |

Does the Ap5sd have the proper SD cocking tube support? I have an early Hitec SD can that has a larger diameter than 1.5”. Not sure what the diameter is, but it fits the broad river tactical sd handguards. ETA: can diameter is 1.625”. Will it fit the ap5SD? |

| Took my AP5-SD to shoot outdoors over the weekend. Running both a fullsize and compact B&T cans, it was relatively hearing safe. The bullet hitting steel was louder than anything else. I could not hear a big difference between the two cans. It is very smooth shooting - currently my favorite long gun. |
| Did my Form4 for my suppressor yesterday, and got the shipment notice that my gun was on the back HiTech who did the conversion. |

| Mine just shipped from Atlantic. I did see a video that shows the ap5sd handguard is much more “plastic” than the hk variant. Whats your thought on this to those that have one? I’ve got a broad river tactical handguard on a colt 9mm and I’m thinking I’ll just swap it to the ap5. Is the ap5sd handguard really that bad?? |

Yeah the MKE handguard is squeaky and hard as in I'd slide my hand on it and it would squeak. I put a Broad River Tactical on and it feels much better. The MKE was extremely stiff to remove as well. I had mine converted by Hitec and put the B&T 12 inch can on. It's a little gassy but not terrible. |

Attached File Picked up my SD+brace package today! Looks pretty awesome with my Octane 45. The Magpul brace isn’t as awful as I thought it would be. I'll probably have Ralph Jr do the full SD conversion eventually but I'll sit on it as a future project after doing my AP53 SBR and a few other irons I have cooking in the fire. Need to get the SD barrel and suppressor anyway.

| Shot my converted AP5SD alongside my CZ Scorpion this weekend. Fixed stock on the SD with 12" B&T can, folding stock on the CZ with no can. The difference was drastic. The SD was so smooth it felt like a 22. No muzzle rise, stayed on target, and no bolt slam. CZ felt so unrefined in comparison. |

Nothing with the charging handle/support needed modified? |

I got mine for the Wolfman today, unfortunately the cocking tube support won't go all the way forward and gouged the adapter and the Wolfman rubbed the cocking tube going on. This is with an RCM SD cocking tube support. This gun was welded with the tube at a down angle or the cage funky. It is a pretty ugly fit. The Wolfman fit in there with the tri lug barrel but the tri lug was ridiculously loose and would've caused a baffle strike. It sucks because I think the Wolfman would be quieter than the 500 versions of 1992 star baffle by B&T. I have an MP7 compact can and a TP380 can and of course the 12" SD can, all star baffles. I would've been ahead to just skip the Turkish crap and send in my POF for conversion. I think the depressed economy in Turkey is taking it's toll on the quality. |

I test fit my adapter tonight. It is a close fit, and as long as I install it with the charging handle forward it does not rub. The smith that did my barrel reprofiled the cocking mechanism which probably helped. I did an alignment check and it all looked good. I applied some high temp blue locktite and will test it this weekend. I have some pictures that I will post in the morning. |

Attached File After a whopping 1 day approval time, I slapped an Obsidian 45 on the SD and Obsidian 9 on the P. Life is good. |

Here are some pictures of the Broad River Tactical suppressor adapter. As noted above, it just fit and the alignment is spot on. Overall looks very well made. Dang. You guys are costing me money! Purchased the ap5-sd with Magpul brace. My plan is to order the BRT wolfman hub and try that out. If I like it just go with that over a sd can. Now for the sd barrel swap. I see these are the 3 guys most have used.. Any other recommendations? I would rather just send the ap5-sd off and not have to worry about buying the parts and sending with. - Bahnhoff - Ralph Jr - Hitecarms |

About the same for Bahnhoff. I bought and sent the barrel, locking peice, and gasket; he might be able to provide (I did not ask). Barrel direct from RCM was best price. Just got the second gun back; all good. |

Mine showed up today! Ordered the sd with Magpul brace. So far everything looks good. Rear of receiver is straight and brace comes off with a little tap, carrier comes out easily. Dead Air Wolfman fits nicely with even space all around. Going to clean the barrel and run out for a quick test fire. RCM SD barrel should be showing up today that I purchased off the EE. 115 degree locking piece and o-ring should be on the way from RCM. Armament USA modified RCM carrier and the BRT wolfman hub adapter are on back order. When those arrive, it’s off too Bahnhof Machine to work his magic. |
