I asked over on HKPro and haven't gotten a hit, so thought I'd try here...
I installed a #28 locking piece in my SBR Z5-P, and the bolt gap ballooned from .35mm to .55mm, which is a tad over max (max is .50). I ordered a set of -4 rollers from rtg...but imagine my surprise when they showed up and were the exact same size as the unmarked rollers that came from the factory. Apparently the factory installed -4 rollers, and didn't bother to mark them in the first place They mike out the same size as -4 rollers, 7.96mm. I wish I had thought to measure them before I ordered a set of rollers...but. anyway.
Anyway - being a new locking piece, I know it should 'settle in' and the bolt gap will close some with use. The question is...would it be safe to take to the range as-is, put 100-200 rounds though it with the bolt gap a little wide, and see if it wears in and closes up to a safer distance? Or would I absolutely need to order a set of -6 rollers before even considering taking it to the range with the new locking piece...I don't know the ramifications of shooting a roller gun with a slightly wider than max spec bolt gap |
