Hello, I need some help in fixing a G3 with an improperly installed barrel. The barrel was set too far back, so the bolt will not properly close.

Would any of you know of someone who could reset the barrel and make sure the rifle is good on head space?

Thanks!

Was this on a new build with new parts?  Old build old parts? New build with used parts?

It's been a while since I looked at the insides of an HK, but I thought the barrel pressed to an indexing shoulder in the trunnion and then roller swaps could make up for wear to keep headspace OK.  If it couldn't be brought back to spec wth rollers, a new trunnion was needed......but at that point the receiver was usually stretched too far and had to be tossed.....hence Old vs. New?

Thanks for the reply. This is a kit built onto a new Portuguese Independent made receiver. I'll have to read up on adjusting the head space this way. Is there a good reference for this?

I would consult Jeff Walters @ Parabellum Combat Systems.

A Google search should turn up all the checks you can do and how to fix if problems are found.
