Just picked up a Z5-P, and am pretty impressed with it, except for the trigger, mainly the reset. When shooting it, it almost feels like it malfunctions. There is zero audible or tactile reset. What are the options for switching up the trigger, or doing work to the existing one? I assume I could just get another trigger pack? While I'm at it, I may as well get a 'nice' trigger, if that's a thing with MP5 style guns. Bill Springfield's site mentions he works on triggers - any recommendations? |

Most reviews you read of Springfield's work are positive, but as of late it seems more hit or miss. Don't know if it's age, health or what, but I have seen issues with getting their stuff back or having issues with the work itself. I sorta wanted to send him a few trigger packs myself, but I'm kinda leary now. |

I put an ambi trigger group on mine because I wanted the look of the 4-position lower. Everything was much more solid feeling than what came from the factory. All the springs felt a lot stronger and the trigger has a much more tactile reset. Then I put in a match sear spring from RTG that lightened the trigger pull perfectly.
Now I have a trigger with the perfect feel and it's the perfect weight. I couldn't be happier. |

That is unusual. Both my HK94 and G3 clunk like a Glock when they reset. Very audible.
You say it's new so have you broken it down to inspect the parts and make sure everything is lubed/working correctly? ETA: Here is a vid. I found the reassembly of the elbow spring not as easy as shown but I managed to figure it out. If there is a defective part it's a fairly cheap fix and you could get the match spring(~$18) at the same time. YT vid |

Well.....that sounds like what I'm looking for, especially since I'm wrong handed, I could benefit from the ambi trigger group. Link to what you bought? |

You might try this link. Its been on the board for awhile, so they may have sold
even though the sell has not indicated that they have. which would lead you to believe that they are still available. http://www.subguns.com/classifieds/index.cgi?db=nfapartsandaccys&website=&language=&session_key=&search_and_display_db_button=on&results_format=long&db_id=5338&query=retrieval |

Trigger group Sear spring You may want to swap the long lever on the left side of the housing for a short lever, so you have short on both sides. I think the extended lever might rub against your hand since you shoot left-handed. |
