I'm about to finish up my UMP conversion and want to get a case that in no way looks like a rifle case. Can anyone give me the measurements of a UMP with the stock folded, mag in, with a red dot. I need the length, height and depth. Below are similar examples of how I want mine set up. Thanks.

Will someone please take a tape measure to their UMP for me?

There is a Pelican case designed specifically for the UMP, http://www.pelican.com/cases_detail_mobile_military/Case/472-PWC-HK-UMP/

Not sure if that's what you're after.

Thanks, but I'm going to buy a briefcase and cut foam to fit the UMP. This arfcommer had a similar idea.  I just need the dimensions of the UMP to ensure it will fit.

9mm is the best I can do

27" long, 17" folded

12" high

It's still 12" from the bottom of the mag to the top of the rail in a .45 (add more for optics).

Thanks guys! It's going to be the same length too, correct? Isn't it the same upper?

Don't forget to add 3/4" if you are using the standard UMP stock. (If your container is that tight)

The swap into the short B&T stock is the best thing I could have done for my conversion.

FYI, I ordered this case and very happy.  Size #5, made specifically for the UMP and holds five magazines.
