I'm in the process of getting my first suppressor, and it's going to be a Ti-Rant 9 for use primarily on my USP Compact 9mm.

Based on what I have read, the aftermarket threaded barrels for the USPc 9 aren't great, so I'm just going to pay to get mine threaded.

Can anyone recommend, or speak about their experiences getting pistol barrels threaded? Primarily, who do you think is the best?

I've seen Tornado Technologies recommended, and the only other threaded USPc 9 barrel I have seen was done by them.

I've also seen ADCO recommended, but their website isn't as detailed.

Tornado says they can only do this in 13.5x1 LH, while ADCO only lists US Measurements.

From my talking on the phone with Tornado, apparently this is a difficult barrel to do because of the dimension and the fact that you have to extend and thread it.

The price isn't really a factor, since these two are about the same, but I'm willing to pay top dollar to make sure my barrel is done well.

Thanks

are you getting a longer factory compact barrel THEN getting it threaded?  the factory USPc barrel (and all for that matter) are flush with the slide.  you would need a barrel roughly 1/4 inch longer so the suppressor can attach to it.

EDIT:

i just looked on tornados website.  I see they extend the barrel.  I guess they just weld on that last part and then thread it ????  I guess if it works you can go that route.

Yes - getting a factory barrel that they are going to extend and then thread.

HK does not sell longer than standard USPc 9 barrels, and they do not make a factory threaded barrel for it either.

Used ADCO on a P30 job and wasvery happy with their work.  Thinking i went 1/2 x 28 which is the same as my P99 barrel.  Had it done by somebody else who also did my kimbers but am drawing a complete blank at the moment as to their name.

I hear that TT does good work, but their turn around time are (or used to be) horrific. ADCO on the other hand is fast and does excellent work I have used them on many threading  jobs. I would recommend them without hesitation.

EFK Fire Dragon makes a barrel that is threaded for your compact.

While Tornado Tech does some of the best work in the industry their turnaround time can (still) be from a couple of weeks to several months depending on how you fall in the schedule when your barrel arrives. Mike does work in "batches" and that can lead to long waits on some work. Best to call and ask.

ADCO as we all know also does excellent work and their turnaround is/has always been in the two week range for the several projects I have sent them.

Or, you can opt for FD barrel and be done with it.
