I just sent my new unfired USC to Ed at HDPS to do the UMP conversion. I bought the USC with the sole purpose of doing the conversion. I thought about doing it myself, but the parts alone cost almost as much as having the conversion done. Plus value stays higher with a top notch conversion. I wasn't sure if I was gonna do it until I handled the USC. Felt very good in my hands, balanced and natural. I wasn't expecting this from such a blocky design. SBR is next step. I keep telling myself, no more NFA!

Was also surprised at how fast Ed returns emails. Ill update this post with pics when I get it back

Really?  I thought the USC grip felt really blocky.  The UMP grip feels much better.

Congrats on the new gun!

I have read that complaint. It felt good to me. I have also read that the UMP is much better. I was expecting the entire set up to feel awkward.

I have only read good things about Ed and he work he does. Not that email response time is indicative of quality, but he responds to emails in usually less than 5 minutes. I have also read that the expected hk reliability is intact and they are just plain fun to shoot.

What kind of turn around did you have? Mine was sent two day UPS, website says 3-5 days for work, then return. Less than 2 weeks?

I emailed "Ed"  a few times about a conversion and never received a reply. It was a "@aol.com" email address listed on his website, which seemed a bit off, but was assured it was correct. Upon studying his website, I saw where he wrote how he was "too busy to respond to emails" and you have to place orders by filling out his order form and faxing it with credit card info and I guess wait for him to contact you and charge your card. So I'm trying to give you my business and you're too fucking good to email or call me? Fuck that assclown. Found out later that the Chopstix or TBostic weld job is a better conversion than a HDPS stockblock, so it worked out for the best. Communication with them is simple and they actually respond and answer questions.

Was that a while ago or recently? I asked him a lot of questions and each one was answered quickly. I agree that the contact info and payment stuff is kinda screwed on his site, but thats why I made frequent contact with him. Maybe he's mending his ways?? Do you like your conversion? Any pics?
