| I saw a FA91 at a gun shop today, and I fingered it. Everything looked good but the receiver, which appeared to be cast. What could you guys tell me about it? |

Having actually owned one of these and not just repeating crap thats been posted all over the place. Mine actually worked when I had it. I bought it used with who knows how many rounds through the thing and then added ~1000+ rounds to that. It was just as reliable as any of the other better clones I have owned or used. It was actually more accurate than many of the other clones I've used as well.
The main point of contention seems to be the pins holding the barrel/trunnion in the receiver might theoretically work loose or enlarge the holes. I never saw issue of this on the rifle I had and it had plenty of rounds through it. |

Each person has to make their own decision. But the general concensus is that they are not reliable long-term. I maintain that most of the people posting that have never actually owned one. For several years this was the only way to affordably get into the HK rifle game. Then came speshul weapons... Then JLD and their PTRs. |

I bought mine absolutely abused for $250. I put loads of work and maybe $100 into it and its been a great rifle so far with about 1200rds through it. Depending on ammo I can keep 2" groups at 100m. Not all that impressive but definitely workable. I've a had a few of the expected FTF/FTE but they were mag related. As someone else posted, just keep your eye on it like you would any other weapon. Would I rather have a genuine HK. Of course. But I have mouths to feed and will deal with the knock offs idiosyncracies any day and keep the spare loot for ammo, food and all the other good stuff. I definitely know that rifle inside and out. |

I had two, purchased new, and both worked just fine for ~1.5k rounds each before I sold the pair to fund another project.
IIRC, there was a serial# cutoff on the "good" guns (eg s/n 12345 and above were good, or s/n 54321 and below were good). Apologies, but I cant remember which, or the consecutive serials I had. |
