Hello,
Were I can find all the info I need to know on how to do a conversion to one? I'm think of doing it myself if I do buy one, but I'm just not too sure whats involved in it. Can I just change out the lower for the real UMP magazines and put on a rear block for a folding butt-stock? thanks |

I was looking trading some stuff for a USC carbine. I looked on hdps.com and found the Navy lowers and the folding stock. Can I swap out the lower, add the folding stock and add the 3 compliance parts and be good to go? I'd also like to SBR it and add a can. I'm new to this so please school me.

I'm looking to do the same thing and in all honesty, I don't see how the $3700 price (turnkey from HDPS) is justified. Black USC- $1500-$1600 HDPS USC to UMP Conversion Kit (COMBO with FBI Style UMP lower) - $1195 -With this combo set you have everything you need to legally convert your standard USC Thumbhole Stock and 10 rounds mag to UMP Pistol Grip and hi capacity mag. All HK German parts are new, the 3 U.S. HDPS made compliance parts are already installed (steel trigger, follower and floor plate), the lower already serviced to make it compatible with the USC upper. The only thing you will need to do is take off a small portion of material from your upper so the UMP large capacity mag can work with it, instructions attached. UMP/USC Set of Rails/screws in blister pack -$125.00 TOTAL-$2920 Only work involved is the removal of the material on the upper and from what I have read, it isn't a very hard process. Hell, they even give you instructions. |

Modding the UMP lower and swapping the internals is fairly easy. Pretty much just remember how it came apart in the USC lower, and reverse it. It really only goes together one way.
If you have a pair of old calipers that are still sharp at the tips, you can use that to score the marks on the receiver for the larger mag well. The only REALLY difficult part is the vents in the USC, but those are only cosmetic. Personally, I drilled 3 1/2" holes in each side, and I think it turned out really well, rather than the 6mm slots. |
