Does your MP-5 bolt lock fwd (rollers out) when out of the receiver? my bolt carrier group SW-5 bolt carrier HK bolt and locking piece does not bolt gap .017". My hk91 and Cetme lock when pulled fwd. the 9MM just slides back and forth. shoots fine just courious

That is normal for an MP5 bolt group.  The bolt does not lock forward or back, just slides back and forth.

The rifle calibers have a different design on the carrier in that there is an additional piece on the left side of the carrier that is a spring loaded lever. It puts pressure against the bolt head and can lock in place if you push the head into the battery position. Check it out since you have both types. The subgun design (MP5s of different calibers) do not incorporate that "feature" so that's why they freely rotate and move in and out.

Yes you are correct and I should have known since I have had to push it in several times on the rifles to unlock it.
just seemed strange for it to not lock, and I never noticed it before now and have had it for five years.
