I bought a new PTR 91, I hate the aluminum forend. I want a wide tropical forend, Other than the wide forend. Are there any other parts I need to order for the change out?

Be mindful of 922r when you are swapping US parts for foreign ones.

Remember too that there are two sizes of hand guards - the full size
guns take the G3 forearm, others like the 'KF' take the shorter HK 33
hand guard.
A good way to balance the 992r issue would be get a US made HK21 cocking handle which is a vast improvement over the std size piece.

the Ptr already comes with a us made cocking handle, so it would be a wash.   although the 21 handle is a nice upgrade

I bought the wide hand gaurd, But didn't order the retaining pin. I thought the aluminum hand gaurd pin would work, It won't. I sent off for a pin on monday.
I started shopping for a collapsable stock, The prices are all over the place, I found one at Dan's ammo advertised as new in wrap german surplus for $159 shipped.
That is the best buy out there. CTD and Sportsmans are the same price plus frt and the very in quality.

Also a foreign part that counts for 922r.

I never thought about 922R on a US made rifle, Does 922R even apply on a rifle made here?

what size barrel is your PTR ? if its a 16 inch be sure to buy the hk93 forend and not the hk91 as the 16 inch has a shorter cocking tube.. might try a folding stock aswell to cut down on weight

Nobody is going to hunt you down, shoot you with a taser and seize your rifle if it has a tropical forend installed.
Adding a German or whatever made original slider stock just might violate the 922 requirements.
PTR91 offers an M4 style us made collapser stock that would definately keep you legal.

I love the Magpul PRS stock on this rifle.  Its a bit heavy depending on what you want to use the rifle for but it is extremely comfortable and the ability to adjust it exactly how you want it is great.  The rifle is on the heavier end anyways so I didn't mind adding the PRS unlike adding it to an AR where the stock seems to make the AR slow and clunky.

Yes it applies. PTR 91's and Century's and Vectors etc are usually made of at least a few reconditioned original HK parts. The same rules apply to a company that builds them that do to an individual.
