I just wanted to share some of my experiences with the board, probably old news to the vets but it may help new owners like me!!  I bought a CA89 with the intent to SBR it.  It was a graduation present of sorts (not high school been in the Army for 8 years), I have always wanted an MP5 and the timing was good.  Anyways, I got the SBR and put a buttstock on and went shooting.  Every 3 to 6 rounds I would have a jam caused by a cartridge not properly ejecting from the receiver, so I ordered up a new extractor spring.

1.) New extractor spring installed.

Result:  Same frequency of FTE.

2.) Ordered new F style HK factory extractor.

Result:  a.) The new extractor didn'f fit into the bolt head without extreme force, so I massaged it (the extractor) with my dremel and it fits like a tight shooting glove.
b.) My clone runs like it should now.  It tore through all the ammo I could throw at it. 3 jams out of 200 rounds, and it is a brand new rifle so that can be expected.

3.) Ordered new ejector lever, ejector spring and hammer strut spring

Reason: I'm anal and want it to run perfectly.  If you want help installing/fitting a new extractor into your clone I can tell you how I did mine.

Best of luck HK'ers!

That is the #1 set of upgrades to make a Coharie gun run.   You might also have the following issues and not know it yet.

1. Semi shelf welded too low and not allowing ejector to sit high enough in bolt.
2. Bolt out of spec so far that no extractor/spring combo will make it tight enough.  (mine was .040" larger than the HK bolt)
3. Loose locking piece and bolt slop (RIM County makes awesome replacement parts at 1/3 the cost of HK)

the list goes on....

Thanks for the tips.  What do most people do to fix the issue with improper semi-shelf weldment?

Good to hear you got it running well. I took mine (CA89 with sear pack) to the range on Saturday. It runs like a top. But it's also got a full HK Action 3 bolt assembly.

I got a new set of electronic earmuffs so I can hear the people talking now. It pretty funny to listen to the chatter when you first let a few multi-shot bursts rip.

They usually add a shim to the top of it or have it moved professionally.  You can also try buying a push-pin trigger housing and doing your own clip&pin with the top edge a little lower which intern pushes the trigger pack up into the receiver more.
