Does the rotational position of the flash hider on a PTR 91 matter for the rifle's function or accuracy? I was wondering if the notches on it need to be horizontal to the ground, or if the slots in the hider need to be in a certain position. Also, do I need to get it tighter than finger tightened? If I already finger tightened it, should I tighten it more in order to get the notches horizontal? Are these stupid questions? I did a little research online and couldn't find any answers.

My questions are in reference to this flash hider specifically: http://www.hkparts.net/Pictures/91%20G3%20PTR/stdfhnewbirdcageHK.JPG

I would appreciate any and all help or education on this matter.

Doesn't make a difference where the slots are.  Finger tight is OK, since the captive spring wire will prevent the flash hider from coming loose.

I used mine to tune my barrel to my ammo,
like a BOSS System. It now shoots better
than a 1/2 moa...
