| Is there any difference between the 18" barrel rifles with the synthetic forend and the 18" barrel rifles with the aluminum forend, other than the forend itself? Are the ones with the aluminum forend more recent manufacture, or is PTR still shipping new ones with the slim synthetic forends? |

I believe that PTR-91 dumped the slim forends because the would tend to melt (customer complaints). I don't anything about the barrel has changed... |
