| has anyone done a right side cocking lever conversion, (attached to the bolt), and free floating the barrel? |

Quoted:
I have not seen anyone do a right side charging handle and, all HK roller–locked weapons in the G3 family have totally free-floating barrels. +1 on the charging handle. The reason you don't see it is because the way its designed you cam the bolt open when you unlatch the handle. Otherwise its a stone cold bitch to cock. (if you've had the cocking handle support break you'll know what I mean) As for free floating, the HK systems are mostly all free floating, though with the PSG/MSG you have way more clearance on the barrel (not to mention better bbl and trunnion). |

Well kind of....
While it does cam open the bolt, it has nothing to do with what side the handle is on. That is a function of the handle and support not the tube. There have been a few right hand handles done, but (and this is the real reason you don't see them) they are strictly one off items as no manufacturer has produced them. As a result, they are prohibitively expensive and honestly of limited utility unless you’re a lefty. ––ST |

Otherwise you can easily flip which side its on. |
