has anyone done a right side cocking lever conversion, (attached to the bolt), and free floating the barrel?

I have not seen anyone do a right side charging handle and, all HK roller–locked weapons in the G3 family have totally free-floating barrels.

+1 on the charging handle. The reason you don't see it is because the way its designed you cam the bolt open when you unlatch the handle. Otherwise its a stone cold bitch to cock. (if you've had the cocking handle support break you'll know what I mean)

As for free floating, the HK systems are mostly all free floating, though with the PSG/MSG you have way more clearance on the barrel (not to mention better bbl and trunnion).

Well kind of....
While it does cam open the bolt, it has nothing to do with what side the handle is on. That is a function of the handle and support not the tube. There have been a few right hand handles done, but (and this is the real reason you don't see them) they are strictly one off items as no manufacturer has produced them. As a result, they are prohibitively expensive and honestly of limited utility unless you’re a lefty.  ––ST

I was thinking he wanted to move the handle back to the bolt for some reason (ala AK). Otherwise you can easily flip which side its on.

I suspect what he is really asking about is the forward assist/silent bolt closing device? Maybe?

I'm a lefty and the left-sided charging handle with a right arm sling is perfect!
