Is there such a thing?

I have in the shop a gun that the consignor identifies as an H&K Model 91 A1.  It looks like a standard fixed stock H&K Mod. 91 A2 to me, but I don't know what an A1 would be.

The markings on frame at left side of mag well:

HK91   A 024XXX  (XXX being the last 3 digits of s/n)

with what looks like "IA" between two small proof marks below that.

On the right side:

Made in Germany
HK Inc
Arl Va 22201
Kal. .308

Is this likely a standard 91A2?

Thanks in advance for any guidance - Jim

HK91's were either "A2" (fixed stock) or "A3" (retractable stock)

IA = 1980

Thanks Osprey, that's what I suspected. -- Jim
