I am trying to decide if I should put n the surefire 627 handguard or an RIS handguard. Let's see some MP5 clones with RIS installed.

Surefire all the way. Leave the rail systems for the mall ninja's in my opinion.

I don't see how a Surefire forend is any less mall ninja than a rail...

I was using the KAS RAS for a bit.

I switched back to the SF 628. There's nothing wrong with the RAS, I just prefered the standard SF handguard. I prefer shooting the MP5 without a vertical foregrip, and all I needed was a light. With that in mind, I didn't really need the rail.

Thanks all. With the fixed faux suppressor, SF628 wasn't a real option. I don't like the looks of the SF627, which led to the question of RIS. Both the KAC and SF RIS grips look nice.

Another quality rail system to consider is Brugger and Thomet (B&T).
Check out DSA's website.

Gemtech five-prong, with 3-lug attachment. They don't make them anymore.
