Can anyone tell me the effective range for an MP5?  No special attachments or special barrel lengths, just a normal smg with the 8" barrel.  I'm finding some info, but not really from any reputable sources.  Can't find anything on it at hkpro.

thanks

200 meters (9mm) maximum.

Depends on how effective you are also, but I'd say 100 meters.

Best CQB weapon ever made in my opinion, but not a battle rifle.

Cool, thanks.  remtek.com backs up the 100m range, I found that after I posted, but I did see the 200m on federalpremium.com as well for the ballistic info on the round itself.  Me, I'd probably be effective to 25 feet hitting paper until I get a decent clone and practiced with it.

At best 100m. By 200 the 9mm round is dropping alot... It really depends on your zero range. I'm sure you could zero it a 200yds and hit stuff at that range then but with your bog standard 25m zero your hosed.
