| My rifle has NO bolt gap.......I know from what I've read that the solution for this is oversize rollers (+2 +4 etc) correct? I'm ordering two sets one of +2 and one +4. If +2 corrects my problem should I run them, or should I go ahead and add the +4 (if it still remains in spec) and would it last as long as if I had run the +2's down then went to the +4's? After my +4's wear down....is my only recourse having the rifle rebarreled to have the barrel set back in the trunnion? Thanks! |

Well....I changed gears a little from my plan to replace the rollers with +4's and to replace the locking piece. On further inspection, I realized I had failed to notice that the bolt was one of the CIA ground bolts (DUH-oh), due to the fact that I had NO BOLT GAP with a GROUND BOLT, I decided I should try something more. I found a good deal on a complete brand new original spanish bolt and carrier assembly with standard rollers. I decided to go ahead and get it and give it a try. I received it the other day and popped in in my Cetme without changing out the standard rollers to see where the gap would lie.....I gave it a couple "HK slaps" and measured it at .457mm or about .018 inches!! Sounds about perfect to me!! Towards the upper end of the operating recommendation which should allow for a good bit of wear before I would need to pop in my +4's! I'll go out and run a couple mags through it and check it again, but I'm pretty happy with where it sits. I compared the new assembly to the old, the locking piece of the old definetly had a little wear, but I noticed also that the tube that leads to the cocking piece seemed a pit worn or ground.....I had heard that can give a false low bolt gap reading too, so that may have been why it showed no bolt gap with the ground bolt. |
Well I took it out this past weekend and shot a couple boxes through it. At first it was somewhat hesitant to feed out of the magazine, and a couple times would pass over the rounds without stripping one off and into the chamber. (Bad mag springs?) But with each mag I shot though it it got smoother and fed better. By the time I shot the 4th mag I only had one failure to feed and it came on the 18th round of the mag. It was flawless during that mag otherwise. I plan on cleaning it up well and taking it out for another go around as soon as I can and hopefully it will feed perfectly! |
Thanks GONIF, The complete bolt, locking piece, firing pin and spring, and carrier was $80 plus shipping if I recall correctly. Which seemed like a great deal for a new old stock set. Its the "full auto" bolt assembly, I didn't notice any difference right off when I installed it, so I'm unsure what the difference is. I bought another new bolt only that isn't complete before I ordered that. I'll probably sell it when I get time. |
