I was just wondering if there is enough "meat" on a PTR 91 barrel to have it threaded 5/8-24 instead of the H&K metric pitch. Any imput is appreciated.

The guy who is making the adapter in the thread quoted above is also helping me with my PTR91/G3 parts kit build.  I need mine threaded 5/8-24 to use with my can.

I think a lot of factory PTR91 barrels have a heavier profile than the original G3 barrel so a 5/8-24 pitch might be okay, but I don't know that for sure.

I'm using an original imported barrel, and threading at 5/8" wouldn't give me enough shoulder to secure the suppressor mount against, so we're cutting it back a couple of inches to start the threads and using the grenade launcher mount as a shoulder for the flash hider.
