I've done a little checking for a cheap scope mount for my CETME, and have read that the claw mounts will not fit without modification. I looked around for some cheap mounts, and found a good looking mount at TAPCO ( www.tapco.com/product_information.asp?number=MNT3060&back=yes&dept=124&last=3 ) I accidentally stumbled across an airsoft website that sells cheap versions of the HK claw mount, stating that they will actually fit and function on real HK guns, but CETME's require modification of the mount to work. This got me thinking, so I checked ebay and found one of these airsoft scope mounts for $30. Airsoft website Ebay auction for airsoft scope mount I don't really think it will work, it's probably made of crappy metal. So my real question is: What is the best cheap scope mount for my CETME that does not require any modifications? I am not looking to make my CETME into a sniper, just mount a red dot sight or small scope to plink with. |

It really depends on what type of receiver you have. If you have the CAST version here's some good information HERE Here's a link for technical information that may be helpful, click HERE. The stamped version does not have the notch that the scope mount locks into to prevent it from sliding back and forth so this can be a problem. I have the stamped reciever. I tried to check out the mount at cheaperthandirt and it's no longer for sale. That airsoft place looks a bit iffy. I bought a used airsoft MP-5 a while back that came with pot metal low-profile scope mount. It clamped on and was held in place by four small screws. Just for the hell of it, I slapped it with a cheap 3-9x scope on the Cetme I had at the time. What do you know - It worked perfectly and held zero
