I was wondering what's the best place to get a semi-auto legal SEF marked trigger group?  I am trying to build a G3 look alike.  I figure I can get the SEF pack (not the navy style...the regular steel with removable grip type...My PTR came with the navy and I don't like it), a wide handguard, and the RDTS flapper mag service and I should be good to go (close enough anyway).

Any thoughts on where I can get one of these steel SEF clipped and pinned jobs?  I have looked online but can't seem to find them in stock.

Thanks.

Vector Arms has the metal SEF. They can sell you a painted/powdercoated frame or one sandblasted (for you to paint). They could also add fake pin for extra (or you could do it yourself, the hole is there). They can also do paddle install for the best price you will find.

Unfortunately, I was the custom HK 'smith there and left the company on Friday. My replacement has talent, but may need a little time to get up to speed. They are also experienced in G3 kit builds if you have any problems. Feel free to contact me for advice.

P.s. I know wide handguards have been tough to find lately. Good luck.

On the SEF housing, you will use your old trigger pack in it, but will need to buy a metal housing selector (it's not as wide). Also, don't forget that you will need the grip/grip screw/washer as well.

Mark (big50) was selling converted SEF grip housing for around $45 a while back, but I can not find his email address.

If you just want to convert one your self, the housing are only $15, and the selectors about the same.  You will need to shave the insides of the pivot pin bushings, then install the shelf.

Thanks for the responses.  After some more dedicated searching I think I have found what I need.

Thanks again.

Why don't you post some contact info, I'm sure theres a whole bunch of people who could use your smithing experience if you could take on the work.
