My father just called and said H&K is giving FedEx pilots a special deal on new USPc LEM .40 cals for $495. He is getting one. He gets these benefits, one of which is going through security without getting searched. I told him to get one right now. He does not carry but he has been thinking about it. He is going to get training now.

I already have a USP and I don't want to mess with his carry gun.

This is great!!!

ETA: Fixed "carry"

why is HK offering this to the group of pilots that are least likely to need it?
Do the packages get a little rowdy from time to time?LOL, just seems kinda strange....

because a cargo plane might be considered an easier target to comandeer.  Packages don't fight back.

I've heard some good stuff about those LEM triggers but haven't seen one in person. Good for you getting your dad to think about protecting himself-tell him you don't have the time to follow him around and keep him out of trouble.

Memphis TN, 1994,  a disgruntled FedEx employee, riding along on a jump-seat,  nearly took over a DC10 with a claw hammer. His intention was to crash the plane into the FedEx headquarters located in Memphis. There was a significant struggle in the cockpit and the pilots were barely able to regain control of the aircraft. Not sure if both pilots lived but I know one for sure sustained significant injury to the skull.

I've seen pictures of the cockpit afterwards and it looked like someone slaughtered a pig in there - blood everywhere...

Not sure if you were making a case for armed fed-ex pilots, but if you were that is a bad example. What he is referring to is a FedEx cargo plane. Meaning there would normally only be the pilots in the plane.

It was a FedEx cargo plane and if fully loaded with fuel its just as deadly as the ones used on 9/11

To let you know, I still hate HK for going Colt on the civilian public...

There are jump-seaters (Non-Fliers) that ride and, extra pilots sometimes (For long trips)...

ETA: Not to mention some asshat that can sneak in hidden inside of a box...

Don't ask anything about their security procedures...

I don't know and, don't get any smart ideas...

You WILL get shot and I can post pics on ARFCOM!
