| I understand that H&K 94/MP5 lowers are compatible with each other and with HK51/53 by swapping out the extractor. Does anyone know if a MP5 lower will fit on my SW45 if I swap out the extractors? I want the lightweight plastic over the heavy metal reciever I already have. |

A real MP5 (machinegun) lower will have a front push pin. A front push pin hole on a semi clone is viewed by the BATFE as a machingun! Semi-clones have a front-shelf instead of a push pin. The machinegun lower could be modified to fit the semi gun (do this when you change out the internals to a semi only trigger pack!!!! Any screwing around could buy you a ticket to Club Fed. You are correct in that any semi lower will fit on any of the HK9x type guns and will fuction with minor parts swap (extractor, and a spring or two). You may be able to buy just the empty plastic lower (with out the internals from places like POF or Top-Notch for about $90). |

If I recall, the SW-45 is designed as a 45 caliber HK-94 clone which means that more than likely you will be able to swap the lower with another one designed for a HK-94 and have it fit. Would you be able to swap the entire trigger pack out of the SW-45 lower and put it into the BW5 lower? That would seem like the most likely to work. I'm just theorizing though since I've never seen a SW-45 before. Hopefully someone with more experience will chime in. |
