A good gunsmith will be able to whack off the extra inches and crown the barrel and thread it for a muzzle device(pre ban).
So if it has to be 16 inches get a regular barrel and have the work done. The H&K not being gas operated will not have any cyclical effects from the change in barrel length as gas pressure should not be a problem. The action on a 91 is long and that is where most of the length comes from. I have shot a G3k and like the shorter barrel from a manuverabilty standpoint. Good luck. |
