My local gun store has an Imbel Fal. Looks to be in good shape, the flash hider seems to have some fouling or just plain rust. Bore looks good. Bottom of the rifle seems to have some wear. Lowest they could do is $930 which comes out to be a hair over $1000 after tax.
Not sure if it's just an Imbel receiver with who knows what on top, but the trigger seemed nice enough. Definitely have to manhandle the bolt more than my AKs. Is ~$1000 the average for an Imbel FAL? Trying to decide if I should just pass and wait or if I need to drive back today. |

I just bought my fourth kit and receiver and I expect my costs to be about $1000 after headspacing and US compliance parts. That's the current sum of the parts not including anything for my time and tools and refinishing.
Your FAL is probably coming from a time when parts were cheaper. $930 is a deal in my eyes. |

It's almost certainly an Imbel receiver build on a demil parts kit - lots of Century guns were built that way, and the Imbel is a good receiver.
It's a decent gunstore retail price as long as it's in VG shape or better, and with the military barrel. You might be able to do slightly better from a private seller, if you've go the time and patience to wait. |

that looks like a L1A1 inch kit on an Imbel receiver. Century put a lot of those together back in the day
On the front of the mag well is it small little hole or a big hole. Metric and inch pattern FAL took different mags. Metric mags have little tit on the front of the mag. The Inch mags had a beak on them that was weld to the front of the mag |
