So my old roommate owes me money and gave me his compete Aussie FAL kit that he's had sitting around for about 5 years. The kit and wood are all in great shape. My old boss has all the tools and knowledge to do FAL builds, so I'm just going to build it with him.

My question is which receiver do I need to get to keep it as Australian as possible?

Also Aussie pics would be greatly appreciated as motivation.

Inch Pattern.  I believe either type 1(my choice) or 3 upper receiver is the trick.

DSA inch receivers are considered more Aussie.  Entreprise is more British.

DSA's current ones I think are all cast for some overseas contract.  Might want to find some NOS online.  Expect to pay $400.

You guys with L1A1 receivered rifles, have any of you tried to run metric mags with them? If you have, what was your experience?

Thanks

Nope.  I have a bin full of metrics.  Maybe I'll give it a go if I remember to pack one.
