I love the looks of wood on a FAL. It makes it a little heaver, and the hand guard, are a little less robust, but I think it's worth it.

This one has Ironwood made set. AND counts as 3 US made parts. I'm building a Rodie, and a South African R1 FAL. The SA one will have a wood stock also.

I drool every time I see a wood-stocked L1A1. Not that I dislike the synthetic stock sets, but the wood is just sexy...

Early FN made Stg58 (from complete parts-kit that I got in the mid 1990's)...

Not mine, I don't own a FAL but I've always loved this picture and the one in it.

Wood Stocks are pretty, but IMHO the plastic will probably take a better beating over the long haul.

Some rifles just look "right" with wood. That's how I feel about the FAL...

I'm a big fan of Ironwood's L1A1 stocks:

Nice,  I have a Century L1A1 with two lowers,  kind of like a suit with 2 pair of pants.    1 is set up with arctic maranyl plastic and the other has a nice B61 walnut with a US made walnut pg.   I also have some spare aussie wood stocks.

I much prefer the wood.

There's a guy that pops up on FALFILES in England who comes up with some nice wood and other parts from time to time.  My memory is fuzzy but his handle might be dirtyrat.
