Hey guys.

I looked a few places, and have a question.   Some time ago, say around...4-5 years ago there was a few threads on using Weaver-based POSP scopes on FAL's, but thus far have only seen one instance where a person actually mounted one.

Has anyone here tried it?     I'm considering either a Weaver-based POSP, or the supposedly Posp "style" of scope that has a 1" tube and meant to be mounted in normal weaver rings.

I am also debating on whether it is "worth it".    I'm planning on turning my FAL into a DMR type rifle, and am thinking the range-finding reticle would be an interesting addition.

Thanks for any info you guys have!

Grant.

I was actually thinking about this very same thing. I have a trijicon tr24g on mine right now but i'd like to maybe try one of the POSP weaver models  that I can switch between for longer range shooting. It may not work for me though as I doubt the weaver model would return to zero after removing.

Thing is I hate trying one of them, because Weaver-based POSP's and/or the 1" tube Posp reticle scopes ain't real popular.  If I didn't like it, I don't know if I could get rid of it!!!

I guess the 1" tube scope is $160 + shipping and a Weaver-based POSP is $220/$260+ shipping....You can start getting into some seriously decent glass, Leupold, Nikon, etc. for only a bit more.....and they've got a warrenty....

That is the kicker right there for me.  If the POSP was a screamin' deal, then it would be worth a go.  But at that price, getting a better scope is the logical thing to do.

Just one of those things that makes me wish I had been old enough to be into guns about 5 years ago ;)

After the ban expired, prices were still cheap, ammo was cheap, and POSP 8X weaver bases were $140.

I always miss out on the good stuff.   I console myself in the fact that right now we're probably in another "low spell" that we will be missing in 2-3 years.
