A guy at my work has some 20rnd FAL mags for sale. How can I tell if they are inch pattern or metric?

I have a metric Imbel gear logo FAL

Just a little FYI Metric mags can work in an Inch gun but of course not vice versa.

How much is he asking? If the price is good you should get them even if they are Inch as Inch are more rare and usually command a little higher price.

The locking tab on the front of the inch magazine (left) (picture #4) is shaped differently and is larger than the metric version.
Metric magazines will generally fit into an inch receiver but the opposite is not true.

I filed the tabs on two of my "inch" pattern 30 rounders and they lock on my metric Israeli build better than the metric mags.
