They must sell a ton of these. All I can say is I'm glad I ordered 2 extra when I stripped one out last weekend when I mounted my scope. Had another to just strip away with no torque at all. Believe me I know not to over-tighten and to use a criss- cross pattern, etc. I grew up around a machine shop so I know a little about grades of fasteners and steel. The screws furnished with these mounts are shit. Use a better supplier for your hardware please. That is all.

The same happen to me as well.  I went to the hardware store and got some 8-32 1/4in screws grade 5 and some 1/2in long.  I used the 1/2in to the hold the lock plates in place, and removed one screw from each plate and replace 1/4in in its place.  Spent a little more on the grade5 screws but didn't have to wait on new screw from DSA.  Hope this help.

Had two to strip as well and I wasn't even beginning to "torque" them.

May I suggest trying the ARMS mount.

No screws to strip out and will not scratch your receiver.

Mine holds zero when removed and replaced every time.

Had to get new screws for mine, too. I just went with shcs instead of the pan head slot screws. Don't forget to loctite them. It's bad to have one of the plates come loose in the reciever. The bolt carrier doesn't like it one bit.

How does this mount adhere? I am looking at their web page w/ a photo of it but I don't see what makes it bind to the receiver.

The ARMS mount has spring steel rails that slide into the dust cover grooves on the receiver.

I don't have any pics ready to go right now and I'm going on duty soon so can't
fix one up for you.

Go to:    mountingsolutionsplus.com

That's where I purchased my ARMS mount.

One of my friends recently got one for his Para FAL there as well.

You can see pics of the mount there.

It's the ARMS #3 or ARMS #4 for the Para.

There quite a few of us who use this mount on our FAL so if you look
on the Arfcom FAL pics page you should see one. The ARMS mount has rivets alomg the sides instead of screws.

Cheers,
