OK, FAL fans....what is it that makes you FAL crazy?  That one Ultimate piece. Could be one you already have or would like to own in the
future.  Also let's limit ourselves to that which actually exists and not some fantasy;  like a plasma FAL in the 40 watt range.   I'll start up.
I used to think that the ultimate for me would be an ultra accurate sniper type FAL, but honestly, I think that category is best served by the
AR platform, for ranges I'd be shooting anyway.
Today, the #1 FAL is the "heavy carbine".   Heavy because I made no effort to use light or lighter parts in it's construction.
She consists of a DSA type 2 upper and Austrian chrome chamber 16.25" barrel.  FN three spot lower with type 3 wood butt.  Argy
triangular handies are fitted, as is a DSA short combined devise F/S. A para style rear sight adorns the lower and the BCG is Israeli and
Austrailian.   A true Franken FAL to be sure, but the value of one of my pre-ban FNs prevents me from doing this to one of them.  Does it
look?  You bet.   Does it shoot?   Hell YEAH !
Then again, anything with a type 2 receiver gets me foaming at the gullet !

I shoot the following

18" medium barrel with a belgium flashider ( med barrels do have alot better harmonics and DO shoot better, belguim flashider is the toughest flashider made, 18" is the best balance)
Type 3 non carry handle DSA receiver ( tough as nails)
G1 steel lower ( these are a perfectly made lower held to a perfect spec, makes for a even better trigger)
Izzy forward assist( larger alloy knob plus forward assist, plus located farther back so no more pinching with a scope mount on)
DSA tactical rear sight ( finger windage adjustable, 2 AR15 peeps)
SAW pistol grip (solid fat grip with a steel storage door)
DSA new heavy duty syn handguard with small pic rail attached to the handguard vent holes ( I use the bipod cuts for memory grooves like a bow has a kisser button)
DSA 2 peice handguard ring(so I could switch to a rail handguard)
DSA speed trigger with DSA hammer trigger and sear (trigger pull is 4 lbs)
Steyr fixed stock ( solid heavy duty stock that gives a better cheek weld for optics)
DSA extreme duty extended scope mount (best mount IMO and will mate up with DSA or Vltor rail handguards)
G1 trigger guard (blended edges give a smooth transition for the finger)
Izzy mag release ( more ambi and easier to hit)
Ambi selector ( I shoot left handed)
DSA heavy duty gas regulator ( org is too thin and is prone to breakage)
full length gas tube ( field replacable)

Being a empolyee of DSA I get to shoot FALs alot and this has proven to me to be the best rifle for a long service life and comfortiblity.

Damn.. I guess I'd just throw a 1-4x trijicon on that and a VFG, and be good to go. Only 2 things hold me back from getting an FAL
1) I do not yet have the cash
2) NJ has a 15 round mag cap limit.
But I do plan on one day owning a .308, and it looks like an FAL might be my ticket

This mutt.
Imbel PAC Marked Gear Logo.
Steyr STG58 bbl and Stoll FH.
Imbel? RA marked lower and partial kit.
Indian Selector Lever
FSE Folding CH.
Penguin Premium Handguards and Buttstock.
Tapco Saw Grip (DSA/FN would probably be better)
DSA HTS.

None. I just saw your pic and I could have swoorn I'd seen an 8mm before - so I searched it on google, found a pic and posted it. So to our knowledge, there are 2* 8mm FALs
IMHO, FWIW, yours is the better looking of the two.
