My FAL cycles on a gas plug setting of 4 but will not reset trigger. The hammer is pushed back and retained, but I have to push the trigger forward in the guard before it will function. Could I have assembled something wrong?

Sounds loke you need to check the spring rod doodad that goes into the back of the trigger.
ETA Its actually called trigger plunger. Go to DSA sight and look at a schematic and make sure you got the lower together right.

Yep, a gunplumber trick is to use a sear spring as a trigger return spring. I tried it
on my latest build and had the same problem, too bad too, it had a very nice trigger that way.

Switching the springs will work on some lowers depending on the spec of the lower, BUT we consider it NOT safe and NOT reliable.

Did you just replace the trigger on it? I had a similar issue with my last build. I replaced all the springs including the trigger plunger spring, it still happened. I took the lower HTS assembly completly apart and noticed there was some casting flash rubbing on the inside of the trigger, enough to make it not function. I filed it off, and now the trigger seems to be fine. Unfortunatly I can't really take it out to test it again until Entreprise hires someone to fill website orders, as I am waiting for a new metric bolt to come in before I can take it out again (this kit came with a bolt with a very badly rounded lower bolt face)
