| I was wondering about how far the empties should be thrown from your FAL when your shooting. If I try to set mine to 5 feet or less, it fails to eject about half the time. The next setting makes it toss them 10 feet away.... Is this OK, or am I going to beat my gun up..?? |

Quoted:
My FAL ejects empties halfway towards Norway with the gas setting on "3". Still dings them up less than an M1A or HK91, if I can find them. LOL You're lucky, mine practically bends them in half. I have to take some time to adjust the gas setting enough to make them usable. |

Ejection can be made more consistant and there is a benefit to what ggiilliiee speaks of..
Also when the gas is adjusted correctly while you may have a few go in an odd direction most will end up pretty close together. The gas adjustment is often misunderstood and improperly set... There are a couple things one should do to make sure the recoil sysetem is working correctly like making sure your recoil spring tube is nice and clean, and that your springs them selves don't have any crap & crud on them.. Once your sure that's all good setting the gas is pretty easy, 20-30' is too far, 5' prolly aint far enough.. Modding the Ejector is easy and has improved ejection on a coupe of my FAL's.. |
